The cabin is a wonderful place to stay, it was clean and well taken care of when we arrived, and it is well stocked with all of the things you need to cook with or make your favorite things on the grill. The views from the deck are great and the area is almost too good to be true. We will come back in the future. You won’t go wrong with this cabin and Judy is great to work with and I would recommend this cabin to anyone, you won’t regret it.

Our stay was perfect. The cabin was spotless and the owner provided a lot of material about the surrounding area and the cabin which we found very useful. Everything we needed was provided. The views from the deck were beautiful. Although the cabin is located in a community, it was very peaceful and quiet; we thought we were the only ones there in the middle of a forest. Having a paved driveway was a big plus for our aging Corvette. We would definitely return to the Haven in the Hills!

Great location close to town but private. Very clean and well appointed. Everything you could need and more. And the view was beautiful! My husband and I have already booked our next visit.

This was truly the most relaxing vacation I have ever taken. The cabin, the view, the area is absolutely breathtaking. The cabin is decorated so tastefully with anything and everything you could ever need or more thought of. This was truly a vacation that i “sat and did nothing.” We were able to see many birds we don’t normally see and got to see the deer daily. The drive to the cabin is easy and the directions were spot on. The pavilion down by the river was another plus that we enjoyed. We actually ate every meal at the cabin and never went out one night, although there are many places to go and next trip we will venture out. The town is quaint, extremely friendly and easy to get to and drive around. Thank you so much for a well deserved rest !

Having rented cabins in Murphy for three decades, on a yearly basis, this cabin is beyond our expectations. The interior and exterior are immaculately kept. It could not be more centrally located for our purposes and yet the setting is rural, feels secluded, and has a lovely trail just in front of the cabin. You can take a short walk, see wildlife, and get a great view of the mountain ranges at the end of Wild Cherry Trail. Judy, the owner, is responsive and attentive. It pretty much lacks nothing. You actually have to visit it to appreciate it.

We had an absolutely lovely time at this beautiful cabin. It was beyond spotless, and Judy provided every single thing we needed — and some we didn’t even know we needed! Getting settled is a snap because they have everything labeled … and town is only minutes away. Lovely quiet subdivision with excellent roads. Wine and cheese each night on the deck watching a gorgeous sunset and mornings in the same place with a steaming coffee. Stunning view of distant peaks… we even made friends with two hummingbirds who decided we were harmless enough not to interrupt their chow-time. Thank you for the soul refreshment– we will be back for sure!!

The view from the deck of Haven in the Hills instantly offers a wonderful feeling of peace, serenity and spirituality. We sat for hours quietly lulled into becoming a part of our surroundings.

The cabin is beautifully decorated, yet comfortable. The peacefulness of the mountains follows into the cabin and all the stresses of the world begin to fade and is replaced with a feeling that all is well.

We did not want to leave and are already planning to return numerous times.

The view from the deck of Haven in the Hills is breathtaking. We sat for hours on the deck drinking in the beauty of the mountains.The inside of the cabin is beautifully decorated, but so warm and welcoming.We did not feel that we were on vacation but that we were home.
We live only a few hours away so we plan to return frequently.Please don’t miss an opportunity to experience the wonder and peacefulness of this extraordinary place.

This is not your standard mountain rental!!! It is like staying at a friends house. Everything has been meticulously thought of and is in pristine condition. The view is great. Great location close to town and lakes. Paved roads. No need to question a stay here. Just do it!! Highly recommended.

This is our second visit to this lovely Cabin in the Mts. What a lovely home it is. So cozy and you could not want for anything more. Just your clothe’s and food. High up in the Mt, with the gorgeous view. So peaceful and quiet.
The squirrels kept us entertained watching them trying to eat from the bird feeder. As usual we enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. And looking forward to our time reserved in Oct. I would and will highly recommend this cabin to anyone.

Breath Taking & Total Relaxation !!!

Beautiful doesn’t begin to describe the multiple views!!! The cabin decor was like staying with family so warm and cozy!!! Weather was georgous and between the fireplace and the views from all the windows, lunch on the front porch …words can not do this home justice.. Judy and Dan call it “Haven in the hills” but I think they just left a letter out by mistake because it was more like “Heaven in the hills” The home is fully stocked and with everything you could think of ….just leave your stress at the bottom of the mountain!!!! I can’t thank you enough Judy & Dan for sharing your amazing home with our family !!!!

What a wonderful Cabin.

We just returned home from our 2 week stay at Haven in the Hills. What a wonderful place it was. After renting many cabin’s before, this was and is by far the most pleasant one we have been to. So fully stocked and nothing is lacking that you would need, but your food. Such a wonderful view and wild life to enjoy. Close enough to everything one could want. We did pick a good time to see the changing of the leaves which was wonderful. We enjoyed our time there so much that we hope to be able to return next fall. You will not be disappointed in Haven in the Hills. Thank you Judy.

Five weeks was too short!

We are VRBO users and have vacationed this way for over fifteen years. Thanks Judy for your hospitality and the use of your exceptional property. We enjoyed every minute and our two Cairn terriers had a ball watching the wild life from the deck. Hope everyone continues to feed the birds and those crazy grey guys.

Great location and within shooting distance of North Georgia and the Franklin NC area. Our favorites for the area were Chatuge Dam, Fires Creek. the alpaca farm in Hayesville and that scenic ride to Franklin on the only route available Rt.64E. Don’t miss Hayesville or as we referred to it as Maybury RFD.

Great property, great vibe, great hospitality

My girlfriend and I were looking for some much needed R&R and we found it at Haven in the Hills! The property is beautiful and Judy was great with answering any questions we had! Very clean home with lots of cool little decorating details. Easy to find, yet very secluded. Everything worked well and was in great condition from the TV to the internet to the gas fireplace and the grill! Thank you for sharing your home and allowing us to create memories in your awesome property!

My wife and I stayed here for two full weeks. We have stayed in many cabins throughout many summer visits in North Carolina. By far, this is the cleanest, most quaint, desireable location we have visited yet. 45 minutes to the Natahala river rafting area. 25 minutes to Blairsville (Vogel Park is a must see!!!!) Hayesville 30 minutes (Chunky gal stables is a must) Downtown Murphy has great places to eat. Very nice older downtown feel. This area is a boaters/hikers/rafters paradise!! The weather was absolutely wonderful during our entire visit!! We are going to be returning next summer for another 2 week visit. You can’t find a better value in the mountains!!

My husband and I loved Haven in the Hills. It is one of the most beautiful places we have stayed at. Judy was so accommodating. She told us restaurants to go to places to visit. The cabin was well organized, spotless and had everything we needed. Judy treated us just like family. Murphy is centrally located for visiting Western NC. You can travel in any direction and visit many different attractions, shopping and wonderful vistas. Judy has prepared a binder listing restaurants and attractions in the area. We found this binder to be extremely helpful. She was always just a phone call away if we needed any info.

I highly recommend this gorgeous cabin!

Haven in the Hills is beautifully appointed with every possible detail attended to. We needed or wanted for nothing in this gorgeous cabin. You couldn’t ask for more by way of a comfortable and elegantly decorated cabin. So much love and pride from owners who care about beauty and comfort in their mountain home shows inside and out. The views are fantastic from the deck to sit back an just relax and enjoy. Judy is without a doubt the kindest and most caring owner I have had the pleasure of getting to know. From e-mails and talking to her on the phone she truly cares about the people who have the pleasure of sharing their home away from home. We can’t wait to return to Haven in the Hills for another relaxing getaway.

This was our second visit to Haven in the Hills, and it only got better as we went along. The cabin, of course, is incredible – squeaky clean, beautifully appointed, and decorated by Judy with country artistry and flair. It overlooks five beautiful ridges, each an ever-changing display of misty greys and purples in the early morning, through the green, red, and gold of the autumn afternoon, and into the deeper twilight blue of evening, which is best experienced from the rocking chairs and picnic table out front. There’s a fire pit beside the house, perfect for roasting marshmallows and staring dreamily into the flames. The silence here is enviable: no traffic, no noisy neighbours, only the sounds of bird song and the occasional inquisitive bark from a dog across the valley. We watched a doe (hopefully the same one as last year) pick a delicate path down the hillside without dislodging so much as a stone. The town of Murphy is lovely, and we were fortunate to catch the Fall Festival at the John Campbell School, where we added to our collection of Smoky Mountain pottery. Dinner at Shoebooties was a highlight, but the food available at Ingles is so good that we cooked every other meal at home. Anyone fortunate enough to spend a week here will go home rested and refreshed, and looking forward to the next visit.

We just got back from our stay at Haven in the Hills and loved every moment. Judy was most gracious, the home super clean and well appointed with everything you could want. The views spectacular and we were treated with an evening storm rolling in over the mountains that took our breath away. I cannot say anything negative about the place! You have all of the modern conveniences of staying connected yet have all of the privacy and tranquility you want on a get away. We hauled our Harley Davidson and had day trips to Waynesville, Blue Ridge, GA, Bryson City and more. I can just about guarantee that if you stay once, you will want to come back.

My wife and sister and I stayed at this wonderful, homey cabin over Thanksgiving week. It was all as described on VRBO. The owner’s had been in the week before and decorated it for Christmas. Lights came on by timer during the evening. It was wonderful. Very cozy with everything furnished. We loved the area. Lots to do and several great restaurants in Murphy. Took a day trip to Gatlinburg for an Arts and Crafts show but bought all our presents there in Murphy and at the FolkArt School is nearby Brasstown. Great place that we would recommend to anyone wanting a get-away in the mountains.

Haven In The Hills was perfect for our 3 day visit in late October, 2010. We never once heard or saw anyone in the surrounding area and the home is well furnished and totally comfortable. we hope to return soon for another stay.

You have a beautiful cabin, nicely decorated and well stocked. We especially liked the bear theme all over the cabin. We loved the sceneries outdoors. Hiking the Fires Creek in Hayesville was great and exploring the Highland area in Macon County was gorgeous.

Thank you for the wonderful mountain home. It was perfect. We were non-stop since day one, from rafting to shopping and the final day mountain biking. Murphy is wonderful and so are the people we met!
